COVID – 19 How we are managing our services.
Safety both to our staff and clients has to be paramount. We are following all government advice and have implemented new policies and procedures to ensure we comply with all regulations. Staff have full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is also available to clients. There is a robust cleaning system in place for all areas of the studio and social distancing.
All scans are for the wellbeing of the baby. They are not designed to replace the NHS scans, however we are aware that many ladies have been anxious through not having timely scans due to the pandemic, so these scans are also to help the mental wellbeing of the parents-to-be during this stressful time.
As such, scans have been streamlined for if you are concerned or need reassurance and include:
Reassurance / Dating scan 7 - 16 weeks
Wellbeing scan 16 - 24 weeks.
Growth scan 24 weeks to term
Presentation Scan – 36 weeks to term
All scans include checks on anatomy and measurements relevant for gestation, with a report to take away.
If you would like to know fetal gender from 16 weeks then we can have a look, however gender shouldn’t be the sole reason for attending a scan. Our 4D packages have been temporarily suspended until such time we are able to offer them. Any ladies who have booked a 4D scan already will be contacted prior to their scan and offered either a wellbeing / growth scan or refund if we are unable to offer 4D scans at that time.
Scanning times will be kept to a minimum to ensure safety, with appointments spaced every 30 minutes to allow minimal people in the studio to enable social distancing. There will also be adequate time for ventilation of the scan room in-between scans.
Attending for your scan
Please do not attend for your scan appointment if you are showing any symptoms of Covid-19, such as a cough or high temperature, or if you have been in contact with someone who has coronavirus within the last 14 days.
You will be asked to wait outside the studio and asked to complete a registration form and invited in once it is safe to do so and there are no other clients in the waiting area.
You are only permitted to bring one guest and strictly no children.
Our sonographers are highly trained and qualified by the NHS and safety will always be our main priority.
If you have any queries about attending for a scan, please e-mail us
My Baby Scan Burscough were delighted to have appeared on the latest series of MTV Teen Mom UK, where we did some of the scans.
** Important information - COVID-19 **
My Baby Scan Burscough strive to provide a clean, safe environment for our clients and staff.
With the concerns regarding Covid-19, we want to highlight our rigorous commitment to safety and the high standards of cleanliness we always maintain. Our staff always ensure that the scan room and reception / waiting areas and surfaces are sanitised to the highest level possible on a regular basis throughout the day. The scanning couch and ultrasound probe are sanitised following each scan.
We are now introducing extended time between clients to ensure the minimum number of clients and partners are in the waiting area at any one time.
Hand sanitiser and hand washing facilities are readily available and we request that these are used by everybody attending the studio.
NHS England have advised that you ensure yourself fit and well before attending your appointment and that only ONE person accompany you for your scan appointment.
